Akiva is passionate about teaching, about sharing and about engaging with students of all ages on topics that are relevant, meaningful and personal.

Originally from New York, Akiva moved to Israel in 2004 and has worked in the field of Jewish and Israel Education for over 20 years. He has taught, guided and spoken with thousands of people on a diversity of topics relating to Judaism and Israel.

 

Akiva received a BA from Brown University in Religious Studies, an MA from Yeshiva University in Jewish Education and rabbinic ordination from Yeshivat Sulam Yaakov in Jerusalem. From 2007 to 2020 he worked at the JNF-Alexander Muss High School in Israel program, guiding high school students from America and Australia through 4000 years of Jewish history while traveling the length and breadth of modern Israel with them. In 2020, Akiva took his Israel education work online through the creation @Israel, where he offers a wide variety of classes, courses and virtual tours to strengthen people's understanding and connection to Israel. Akiva has also lectured for many college Hillels, Jewish communities and programs around America and Israel.

Akiva uses the mediums of speaking, writing and music to share his passion for the Jewish people, for Israel, for the environment and for the world.

My book about the hysterical, emotional and challenging sides of making aliyah to Israel. A collection of 50 essays from 40 different olim (immigrants), together giving an insight into the experience of acclimating to Israeli society. With foreword by Yossi Klein HaLevi.
